Commissioned by Florida State University to celebrate the sixty-five year history of the university singers this nineteenth century American parlor song arrangement preserves the nostalgic mood of the original but casts it in a more modern harmonic idiom. This would be great as part of a set for American music month. Consider coupling it with Stephen Foster.

The dating “nel mese Decembre 1776” on the autograph of the Missa K. 258 is not authentic; it was most likely written towards 1775/76. On the autograph Leopold Mozart inscribed the title Missa but at the incipit on the old cover of the autograph collection he wrote Missa brevis. This points to the lack of standardization and uncertainty of the nomenclature. Although the work is written in the brevis form it calls for additional instruments besides the usual church trio which assigns it to the genre of the brevis et solemnis mass. Mozart added two oboes whose parts he wrote out himself and which are enclosed together with the primary copy. The two oboe parts seemto have been unavailable to any copyists. Eine Stadt in Bewegung-This piece describes the daily madness of traffic in a city full of cars noise and exhaust fumes. Even in the countryside the 'monster on four wheels' has already arrived and is destroying idyllic villages. In the middle of the composition we experience a traffic jam where some drivers tend to behave in a very primitive way! This work is dedicated to all those who are affected by or are suffering from the overpowering proliferation of traffic. This work will 'drive' your audiences crazy with excitement !!
