Lent and Easter Cantatas- 72 Solo Cantatas for Voice Melodic Instrument and Basso continuo. Lent & Easter - Medium Voice. When Telemann issued his first annual cycle of printed cantatas Der Harmonische Gottesdienst (Hamburg 1725-6) he was already one of the leading cantata composers of his time. Thanks to their brevity and their simple scoring the 72 solo cantatas have remained very popular to the present day. These editions (BA 5891 through to BA 5896) divide the annual cycle into cantatas for high voice and cantatas for medium voice. Each series spreads the works over three volumes accompanied by separate parts for solo instrument and continuo. The cantatas follow the order of the liturgical year beginning with the Christmas season and continuing with Easter and Trinity. Being practically minded Telemann arranged the ambitus of the vocal parts so that the cantatas for medium voice are ‘also suitable for an ordinary alto or bass’. Similarly the solo instruments are suitable for Violin Oboe Recorder or Flute. - Interesting solo cantatas for use in church services. - Urtext from the Telemann Edition. - Separate parts for instrument and continuo.

Margery Agrell's poem recalls “faint light” and “soft winds” and provides a reflective and soothing view of nature in this SATB piece for a cappella mixed voices. The close harmonies produce a lush yet evanescent veil of shimmering sonorities in keeping with the hushed and dream-like “spells of sweet silence.” Margery Agrell 's poem recalls “faint light” and “soft winds” and provides a reflective and soothing view of nature in this SATB piece for a cappella mixed voices. For unaccompanied flute. The music of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach unlike that of his famous father Johann Sebastian or that of the master he influenced Haydn did not define an era so much as reveal a deeply personal response to the musical conventions of his time. The three movements of this Sonata in A Minor for unaccompanied flute - the only one he wrote for 'flute alone' - may be played either in the order written or in the order II-I-III for a more balanced work.

There’s no riddle when it comes to the success of Rob Vuono’s jazz charts! His ability to create a complex sounding chart that is extremely easy to play makes this one a guaranteed winner. Starting off with a simple swing 2 feel the chart builds into a steady 4. A brief interlude drops the key down a half step before moving back up creating the illusion of a key change without one ever occurring!
