Bach was a forceful original composer whose legacy influenced almost all western music and he was also a dedicated student of the keyboard. Always exploring new ways to share his knowledge of the instrument and Bach worked to ensure that the novice keyboardist would use the proper technique. This is a collection of some of the simpler more accessible pieces that help foster correct technique yet presents all of the melodic beauty and harmonic sophistication for which Bach is known.

See You! is a little farewell song. Farewell scenes are a prominent part of the most touching elements of film music. Just think of the soundtrack to the great film Casablanca which became famous overnight. See You! is not intended to be a permanent good-bye but more a ‘see you soon’. It has been especially composed for young bands or smaller ensembles who want to try a more modern style of band music.

It is not entirely sure where the melody originates that forms the basis for Norwegian Overture . Most sources point in the direction of a certain J.H. Nebelong in about 1881. It is also possible that he was the first to note down this traditional melody and put his name to it.The lyrics are by a certain A.H. Brorson and were set to the music at a later date. The original title is store hvide flok which means the big white herd. Several composers have used this theme including Edvard Grieg and the Danish Carl Nielsen.

Belisia is the old Merovingian name of the Belgian town of Bilzen who commissioned this composition. It is also the composer’s place of birth. The work has two main themes. The melancholic theme in a minor key refers to the many ravages the town hassuffered through the years and the second theme stately and heroic represents the inner strength and courage of the proud inhabitants of this town.

For Flute and Clarinet The music of this “evocation” does not attempt to do either in any concrete fashion yet if while listening to it you are moved to daydream a bit indulge in some flights of fancy or commune with the infinite no one will mind and we might consider the piece successful in its intent. An entertaining romp for four jolly bassooninsts (without contra).

This collection of five original pieces has been composed to give saxophonists of moderate ability the experience of playing duets in the jazz idiom. Both parts are of equal importance and difficulty but written in 'comfortable' keys. They can either be played by two saxophones in the same key (i.e. two altos two tenors alto and baritone tenor and soprano etc.) or by using the transposed second part alto and tenor. These pieces provide interesting material for both practice and performance. The 'Jazzy Duet Series' was written to provide players of moderate abilities with experience of the syncopated patterns of jazz and is available for flute clarinet saxophone flute & clarinet piano and violin.
