Fermob Idoles Stackable chair Licorice Metal W 51 cm x D 52 cm x H 77 cm Fermob launches its new Fermob Idoles collection: between new creations and re-releases, a bold, demanding offer bearing the signature of talented designers. The story of this chair begins in 1986, when Jean-Michel Wilmotte won a competition launched by the gardens department of the Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historiques et des Sites. His project involved redesigning Peynet's kissing chair (a garden chair with traditional scrolls) to create a more contemporary, functional and practical folding version, while keeping the steel wire frame of the original model. Sixty copies of it were made for the Palais Royal, and it has often been borrowed since. The idea behind this re-release is to return to the original proportions but to use tube for lightness. Sometimes a place guides inspiration. As proof of this: the TNP armchair designed by Christophe Pillet for the Villeurbanne Théâtre National Populaire (the former Palais du Travail based on the Stalinist model) when it was made over in 2011. A unique building, whose majestic architecture dates from the 1930s and was formerly the Palais du Travail inspired by a Stalinist model, torn between ostentation and austerity. It was along these creative lines that the designer Christophe Pillet designed the TNP armchair withstanding the rust of time, with its generous and functional curves. For his material, he chose metal as a reference to the world of work and industry. To bring it to life, he naturally turned to Fermob, a high-quality French company he had already worked with on the Mendès France project. Indoor and outdoor use - Stackable (4) - 3 years guarantee

Fermob Idoles Stackable armchair Cotton white Metal W 57 cm x D 57 cm x H 81 cm Fermob launches its new Fermob Idoles collection: between new creations and re-releases, a bold, demanding offer bearing the signature of talented designers. With this piece, Patrick Jouin takes a new look at the iconic Facto chair, his very first piece, which first entered the Fermob catalogue back in 1998. It is an outdoor seat with a simple silhouette and made from a single material: soft sheet steel. Patrick uses these features to create a delightful, elegant, simple and welcoming armchair that is both practical and comfortable. The shell backrest, which fits neatly to the structure, develops a complex system of irregular perforations that spread out harmoniously. Fermob Idoles Stackable armchair Cotton white Metal W 62 cm x D 51 cm x H 77 cm Fermob launches its new Fermob Idoles collection: between new creations and re-releases, a bold, demanding offer bearing the signature of talented designers. The Lune d'Argent armchair was born out of a collaboration between the designer and Fermob, originally designed as an entry to the Fondation Cartier's Petit Café competition, which it won. It was a radical, ground-breaking departure that broke with the established, uncreative codes of the outdoor furniture sector and, as such, was a real commercial success. Lune d'Argent was the brainchild of designer Pascal Mourgue. It was a unique combination of art, sculpture and object, which paid homage to the concept of industrial quality - a major feature of the 1980s - and signalled the introduction of design into the outdoor furniture market.
