This bar stool is 65 cm high and features tapered legs, a feature characteristic of the Windsor design. The solid elm seat is moulded for added comfort. A feature of this bar stool is the classic Windsor wedge joint, where the leg of the chair goes right through the seat, a wedge is then inserted into a cut in the leg, forming a remarkably strong joint. Sanded off flush with the seat, the joint then provides a beautiful design element. This stool was originally made in very small numbers in our jig shop for use by our designers in the days when designers used pencil and paper and sat at drawing boards. 1950 reissue - Made in England

Hay Bar stool Oak wooden L 39 x Prof 52 x H 75 cm HAY has invited Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design a new collection of furniture for the redesigned University of Copenhagen (KUA). The collection includes a woodenen chair, a bar stool and several tables. The seat and back are mounted in the centre of the seat creating a highly flexible and resilient comfort - the seat follows the movement of the user. The chair also has a flexible back, which bears similarity to the cantilever chairs, which was first designed by the Bauhaus school in Germany in the 1930's. Due to the symmetrical frames chairs and tables both stack vertically, allowing an almost infinite stacking, where most other chairs stack forward.
