The organic shape unfurls lavishly on a base able to hold a precious object, a vase that can hold a single flower and render it a work of art all on its own. Aldo Bakker designs with heart and soul. It is, above all, a matter of bringing forth the form's sensuality, fluidity, incongruity, that je ne sais quoi that suggests the supernatural. The vase Emotion reflects the precious and delicate gestures of this renowned Dutch designer. From the Manufacture Royale de Sèvres to designerbox, from unique pieces that are rare in both savoir-faire and price to the delicacy of an everyday, affordable object, everything Aldo Bakker creates leads us into a poetic, sensual world that engenders nothing but joyful contemplation. Made of pristine Porcelain by a traditional Dutch workshop., the texture of this vase is bare, raw, as soft as skin. The original model used to make a plaster mould, and the only testament to the technique's progression, was created through a rapid 3D-prototyping method. The mould is sculpted from this shape and then receives a rich mixture of kaolin, quartz, and carefully proportioned alkaline powder only found in porcelain-making. Water is then added to this delicate mixture to create a more or less liquid paste that adheres perfectly to the mould before being fired at a minimum of 1260°C.
