The music of Handel is considered the culmination of the Baroque period of music history and his Water Music (1717) has endured in popularity for nearly 300 years! Performed from a barge traveling on the River Thames King George I is said to have liked the music so much that he ordered it repeated several times. Originally three suites each consisting of multiple movements Johnnie Vinson has skillfully adapted this arrangement for young players using Alla Hornpipe from the Suite in D Major and the Air and Allegro from the Suite in F Major .

What are thought to be the original words of 'London Bridge is falling down' carry much of the references to materials used in building the original bridges- wood and stone gravel and stone and then later iron and steel. Coming to the assistance of Aethelred Olaf isthought to have pulled the bridge down into the Thames along with its occupying Danes rather than fight on the bridge itself. Mvt. 2: La Sagrada Familia-The Great Spirit is a two part symphonic work that Ferrer Ferran dedicated to the famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Ferran depicts various stages of the life of this ingenious architect and master of round organic forms and shapes: from his humble beginnings to working on the Sagrada Familia which would turn into a life-long task. Mirroring Gaudi’s architecture the musical lines of Gaudi are fluid and organic the structure expansive rich in colour and spellbinding just like the buildings of the great Catalan architect.

This is a rarely heard version of a work that Prokofiev revised and reissued in 1953 as his Opus 135 sonata. Pianist Barbara Nissman said of the two works: 'The two versions can be viewed as stylistically different works from separate periods: Op. 38 is a Classical work; Op. 38/135 is a Romantic paraphrase of the Classical work.' Joan Tower 's White Water - String Quartet No. 5 . Score and parts. White Water is the first of four commissions for Chamber Music Monterey Bay's 'Arc of Life' project. Theartist Bill Viola shared excerpts from his video installation 'Going Forth by Day' — a depiction of life in all its stages — with the four composers who then created compositions inspired by this. ' When I saw [Bill]Viola's work I was quite fascinated with how he used water as an encompassing image which influenced everything I saw about the 'person' inside the water. My piece is not directly associated by what he specifically did but itdoes have a strong connection to the image of water as a powerful basic idea and action. The many glissandos hopefully create a 'fluid' environment that connects the various ideas and registers together while 'white water'somehow implies more rapid 'cascading' types of action which occur throughout the piece ' - Joan Tower
