Vocal Score-Its first performance at the San Carlo theatre in Naples on 26th September 1835 an acclaimed success Lucia Di Lammermoor was a real triumph for Gaetano Donizetti . The Bergamasque composer - who had returned to Naples that year where he was hailed as a maestro - had met Salvadore Cammarano and they quickly struck up good artistic relations. On the inspiration of Walter Scott's 'The Bride Of Lammermoor' Cammarano wrote a fast-moving libretto typical of a romantic ballad with a strong formal structure and boosted by first class melody. The love story as described by the two authors is beautiful yet sad and tragic. Lucia takes on an almost uniquerole in Italian Opera; a heroine completely bereft of human passion apart from her total dedication to love. The romantic female character par excellence capable of bewitching even Madame Bovary and Anna Karenina.

Ich Hatte Viel Bekümmernis - Lord My God My heart And Soul Were Sore Distrest BWV 21. Cantata for the 3rd Sunday after Trinity. The cantata “Ich Hatte Viel Bekümmernis” dates from around 1713 and was probably performed for the first time that year in the Liebfrauenkirche in Halle. Its assigning to the third Sunday after Trinity probably only occurred the following year. With its large-scale structure and strong emphasis on biblical texts it was extremely popular in the 19th century and remains one of Bach ’s best-known cantatas today. When Bach met King Frederick the Great in Potsdam in 1747 the sovereign presented the composer with the celebrated “Royal Theme” composed by himself. A fantastic Edition Peters volume containing two mesmerising pieces for two Pianos by Mozart. Light and uplifting Sonata in D K.448 written in 1781 is a refined and in places delicate work.
