This piece has become extremely popular within the past few years as it has been used extensively as incidental music on television and in commercials. Originally written for two voices in Delibes opera Lakme it is arranged here for piano solo. This is a popular piece to play at weddings. Lakme and her serving girl Mallika sing the flower duet as they prepare to bathe in the sacred stream that runs in front of their house. This is a version arranged for piano by Jane Fenton.
