Folkloric Pastiche for Wind Band-Grim was commissioned by Sandviken Ungdomskorps in 1998. Grim is a folkloristic pastiche but also with a jazz-flavoured inspiration. The piece ends with the folk-music played on top of a theme from a march: Sandvikguttenes marsj to salute the band that commissioned the music. The title is taken from the word grimen a kind of troll that lives in water.
