For this experimental film Nyman had the idea of building his music for the marriage masque scene experimentally layering Voices by different sorts of singers to build texture. He arranged the work for brass quintet almostimmediately in 1991.Nyman is a contemporary British composer of richly layered modular minimalist pieces often incorporating period instruments or instrumentation outside the normal Orchestral offerings. He is particularly wellknown for his film scores including The Piano The Cook The Thief His Wife and Her Lover Prospero’s Books and The Claim among many others. His work is widely performed and recorded.

Concerto for piano and orchestra- Tirol: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Philip Glass was premiered at the Klanspuren Festival in Tirol Austria and written with the support of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Tirol Tourish Board. Glass studiedsound documents and sheet music of Tyrolese folk-music using this source material directly as the basis for the concerto.

Kaija Saariaho is the most successful of contemporary Finnish composers having won a number of international compositions and has become best known for her works which exploit electronics. The inspiration forwriting NoaNoa came at the time of writing the music for the ballet Maa. 'I wanted to write down exaggerate even abuse certain Flute mannerisms that had been haunting me for some years and thus force myself tomove into something new.' NoaNoa is the work of a team and many details in the Flute part were worked out with Camilla Hoitenga . The electronic part was developed under the supervision of Jean-Baptiste Barriere with Xavier Chabot as the programmer.
