SALSA
Adventurer! The Salsa Fargo is a drop-bar, off-road adventure bike. It has developed a cult status as an off-road touring and bikepacking machine and fuels Salsa’s passion for long days in the saddle in distant lands. The Fargo receives Alternator dropouts and the Firestarter carbon fork, making this an even more capable and versatile bike. Its effective toptube length is shorter than modern 'long toptube, short stem' frames. This allows you to run dropbars like Salsa’s Woodchipper handlebar. A shorter toptube allows a longer headtube for stiffness and strength. Run geared, singlespeed, thru-axle, or Rohloff setups if you choose the right Alternator swing plates (Note: available in a replacement kit, which is not included in the package). Use bikepacking bags or add racks and panniers for a longer trip. The Fargo is designed to take you wherever it is you wish to go, be it the Camino de Santiago route from France to Spain, or an extended exploration of Patagonia. Features of Salsa FARGO 29: • Front suspension compatible - designed for 100 mm travel suspension fork or Salsa Firestarter Carbon/Firestarter CroMoly fork. • ZS44 semi-integrated headset standard - compatible with tapered or straight 1-1/8 steerer forks. • Rear wheel evolution friendly - alternator dropouts currently handle Geared and Singlespeed QR and Rohloff; a 12x142 mm Thru-Axle version is available separately, allowing you multiple setup options and facilitating rear wheel evolution • Set-it-and-forget-it singlespeed setup - the Alternator dropouts swinging design and set screws offer quick setup and tensioning. Vertical wheel entry means no re-tensioning or brake adjustments are necessary after a wheel change. Slip-free and creak-free performance. • Adjustable ride characteristics - using the Alternator dropouts, geared riders can fine tune the ride characteristics of their bike by adjusting chainstay length and overall wheelbase to be quick and nimble, or longer and more stable • Versatile crank/gearing options - accepts 1x, 2x, and 3x mountain cranksets for a wide variety of personal setup options. • Waterbottle bosses - frame accepts 3 waterbottle cages (2 on size XS). TIG-welded in for durability. Fork accepts 2 waterbottle cages.
