This course offers the enthusiastic photographer an amazing opportunity to photograph majestic big cats in their sanctuary environment in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. The venue houses multiple species of big cats including Snow Leopards, Pumas, Servals and many more. Unlike a zoo, the Sanctuary offers just 1 wire mesh between you and them, allowing fantastic photographic opportunities without distracting bars or glass reflections. All of our Trainers are experienced photographers and have a broad knowledge of all cameras to ensure you get the best from the day. Our partners have nearly 40 years’ experience with big cat education, welfare and conservation. Suggested Equipment / KnowledgeA previous knowledge of exposure including Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO is advisable for this experience. On the day you will need your camera, fully charged batteries, memory cards and any lenses (ideally ranging from 50mm-300mm) you may have. It is advisable to bring waterproof clothing and protective footwear as this is an outdoor event and some of the ground areas are uneven.Where is this course available? Travelling by car is suggested due to limited access via public transport, however Welwyn Train Station is only a short taxi distance from the venue. All of our Trainers at the Academy are fully qualified to ensure you get the best from the day.Suggested Equipment/Knowledge:No previous knowledge of Macro Photography is required; we do however suggest that you possess a basic understanding of your camera by being able to control Aperture, Shutter and ISO.
