La Stanza dello Scirocco is a range of items born out of the abstract and motionless atmosphere of a magic place: the room in large Sicilian country homes where one is forced to seek shelter from the sultriness while waiting for the sirocco to die down. It is a room without windows in which you can do nothing but ponder the wind that is undoing all sublunary things outside. The upshot is a collection of geometrically irregular items made up of small splinters of various sizes, interlaced in an unstable balance.

Alessi Tray Polished steel Metal 55 x 50 cm x H 4 cm This tray marks the beginning of Alessi's collaboration with Sandro Chia, one of the best known Italian artists in the world. Born in Florence in 1946, Chia moved to Rome in 1970 where,after a period of experimentation a long the lines of conceptual art, he gravitated toward the manuality of painting. In 1979, Achille Bonito Oliva identified his work with a new trend at the time called Transavanguardia and invited him to participate in the exhibitions he curated in order to assert the movement internationally. In his paintings, the body's sensuality and the vitality of nature are celebrated in the exuberance of increasingly monumental figures, which then find concrete resolution in bronze. In his work, the dialogue with iconographic themes, motifs and techniques of art history is intensified and re-elaborated with an entirely personal, light-hearted irony.

She is internationally known for always having fought, in this world of men, to express her sensorial and protean vision that continue to redefine the boundaries of her profession and which she has called Hypertension, meaning the fact that a space should make us move, i.e. it should put us in tension. On her idea of design she explains, I am interested in some aspects of design: I do not like design when it is simply associated with an idea of ‘concept' and that you should believe in it just because it's a ‘concept'. I like it when an object that is offered to me is both a super-idea, very simple and at the same time nice to look at. For me, design is this: reinvention heading towards something essential. Alice is a tray that is as simple as a rectangle, as complex as a diagonal,flat so you can look at the world through a mirror.
