Alessi Tray Glossy steel Metal L 58 cm x W 45,5 cm Disco Cesellato: the eternal seduction of scrolls and flourishes. Among Alessi's historical moments, there was a time, which lasted about twenty years between the ‘40s and ‘60s, in which the company, parallel to the rising production in design (the Avio series, the 870 shaker by Massoni, Mazzeri and Vitale) developed several lines of objects inspired by the classic styles of European silverware. Implicit in their kitsch value these items have always been loved by a certain type of public. This notion of decoration, inspired by the eighteenth-century, has been taken up again today by Mendini with a new project of chiseled surfaces: very simple-shaped trays were engraved with scrolls and flourishes. Alessi Oven dish White Ceramic 30 x 30 cm x H. 6.5 cm Programma 8 by Franco Sargiani and Eija Helander, 2005. The Seventies: Franco Sargiani and Eija Helander designed Programma 8 for Alessi. This systematic and comprehensive project of small modular and stackable household items was based on the very same methodological premise of the international-style architecture of the period: the theory of open-system meta-design ideal for the free composition of unlimited living and formal models. Defined by Alessandro Mendini as the most evolved system of household objects ever created on an international level (Paesaggio casalingo, 1979), this design concept radically overhauled the implements used for table and kitchen service, oriented towards maximum practicality and flexible use. At the time it was presented, it created an enormous stir in the small world of the Arts de la table, and it has now been taken up again and completed by adding the function of preserving to the original ones of cooking and serving. Capacity 442 cl.

Alessi Bowl Steel Metal Ø 35,5 cm - H 4,5 cm For the Super Star project, Tom Kovac has unleashed the poetic-architectural enthusiasm which served him so well in the Tea & coffee towers operation. This centrepiece, initially a chocolate holder for Nestlè in 2007, is now part of our catalogue. The shape of Super Star directly refers to the function it accomplishes and its name: Many small containers, all joined together in a circular shape to create a star. It is the proposal of an open centrepiece concept which helps to satisfy the varying needs of convivial hospitality, from starter dish to chocolate holder. Super Star is made of 18/10 stainless steel, by spinning and subsequent shearing. A qualitative characteristic of Super Star's production is the mirror finishing of the inside of the containers. This is very difficult (and makes the item more valuable) due to the depth and small size of the cavities.

Alessi Serving dish White Ceramic L 31,5 cm x W 28 cm This is how Ronan described their project: The ‘Ovale' collection strives to be original, but it also wants to be rustic and traditional. We set out in pursuit of delicate expression. This composition speaks about every day life, about breakfast, lunch, about everyone getting together for dinner. There is a desire for simplicity. He then coined a new expression to describe Alessi, a likeness that appeals to me: For me, Alessi is very similar to the operation described in Tim Burton's ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. A wonderful factory where Alessi produces cakes and sweets. Let's say, with this collection, that we tried to reach an equilibrium: a project that's not too sweet, I'd say it's rather delicate. Light asymmetry of lines - Rounded corners

Alessi Tray Polished steel Metal 36 x 35 cm x H 1.5 cm With the Territoire project, matali crasset presents two trays in different sizes and colours, with the aim of creating a play of colour and composition left to one's personal taste and preferences. Territoire, the larger tray in the shape of an irregular hexagon and Territoire intime, the smaller pentagon-shaped piece, are made ??of polished 18/10 stainless steel and coloured steel. The choice of colour is deliberate and dictated by the designer: Yellow Sand for the hexagon-shaped piece, Terracotta for the pentagonal version. The Territoire and Territoire intime trays can be showcased on their own or paired together to create a vibrant combination of lines and geometric surfaces. My inspiration was a line, like a shoreline. A line determines where it can be placed, A raised line allows the tray to be handled, A winding line like an irregular territory, life having patterned its path. A cosy, warm, watchful and ethereal space in a neutral and numbing metal realm. A space for valued objects, those we want to highlight, those which confirm our personality. An orange space to glorify household rituals. An overall space to gather more in a more informal manner. A symbolic space in a functional space. A space for the indoors, the private home, an outdoor space for dinners on the terrace. Two trays, two worlds hidden in the dark corners.
