Easier Piano Pieces 11-This volume brings together two early collections by Grieg to form an attractive first book of characterful piano pieces. The Lyric Pieces published when the composer was 24 are amongst the easiest pieces Grieg wrote for the piano and represent a conscious attempt to provide accessible and tuneful music for beginners. The Poetic Tone-Pictures from Opus 3 were published in 1865 when Grieg was 21 and although they are more difficult than the Lyric Pieces they do not contain anything above Grade 6/7 standard. The Lyric Pieces from Opus 12 were published in 1867 when Grieg was 24 and are - with the exception of some of the folk-song arrangements from Opus 17 - the easiest pieces Grieg ever wrote. There can be little doubt that they were a conscious attempt to produce attractive material for the beginner.

Theresa Mass- Between 1796 and 1802 Haydn composed 6 great Masses to celebrate the name day of Princess Maria Hermenegild the wife of his patron Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy II. Welsh composer Karl Jenkins dedicated his landmark mass The Armed Man to the victims of the 1998-1999 war in Kosovo. More recently it is been associated with remembrances of 9/11. The French Renaissance song L'homme armé serves as the basis for the first movement of the mass beautifully adapted here for standard concert band instrumentation. With its relentless pulse and haunting strains this is a dramatically emotional and riveting work!

Club Paradiso is a work by Sven Van Calster written in his well-known approachable style. He composed this work in the hotel of the same name during a holiday in Alanya Turkey. He paid special attention to an even distribution of the most enjoyable passages amongst all the parts of the orchestra and also took care of the necessary duplications so that most orchestras are able to play the piece.

The Utrecht Te Deum was first performed on 7th July 1713 at the thanksgiving service in St Paul's Cathedral London for the Treaty of Utrecht which concluded the War of Spanish Succession. Majestic fireworks were displayed along the Thames and the 'Te Deum' is also a firework of Baroque sound - it ranges through F sharp minor A minor F major D minor C major and G minor as well as the expected ceremonial D major.
