Excerpts from Movement 4-Developing an intimate understanding of the world’s greatest musical accomplishments is an important part of a music education. Every musician should have the joy of playing the music of Mozart and the G-minor Symphony (Number 40) is one of Mozart’s signature works and one of the greatest musical achievements of all time. Stephen Bulla has carefully and effectively brought the themes of the G-minor Symphony finale to the concert band stage with this delightful transcription/arrangement. Your band won’t be playing a “band arrangement”- they’ll be playing MOZART! Don’t forget the opportunity for a music history lesson built into this piece. Masterful!

Easier Piano Pieces 56-Telemann composed three dozen Fantasias published in 1732. He deliberately set out to juxtapose the French and Italian styles. Marks of dynamics and of articulation have been added and so have harmony notes of inner parts which would have been improvised by the player in an 18th-century performance. Telemann composed three dozen Fantasias which were published in 1732. He deliberately set out to juxtapose the French and Italian styles with the first and third (published here) dozen having Italian titles and tempo markings and the second dozen French. the editorial aim of these albums has been to present a text that allows as stylish a rendering as possible bearing in mind that the majority of players will be pianists rather than harpsichordists. Marks of dynamics and of articulation have been added and so have harmony notes of inner parts which would have been improvised by the player in an 18th-century performance.

Ode for St. Cecilia's Day- Alexander's Feast or The Power of Musick HWV 75 Ode for St. Cecilia's Day In 1736 Handel composed “ Alexander’s Feast ” or “ The Power of Musick ” a two-part cantata based on John Dryden’s poem of the same name. Now in a revised edition. For the new edition of Handel’s “ Alexander’s Feast ” the dynamic markings have been thoroughly revised. The three movements which Handel had added are published for the first time in the Vocal score. The readability of the edition has been much improved and the writing of the Piano part has become more idiomatic. - Clear straightforward Piano reduction in the Vocal score - Urtext of the Halle Handel Edition - Full score (BA4001) & Vocal score (BA400192) available for sale - Performance material available for hire

The “Stabat mater” composed shortly before Pergolesi’s untimely death at the early age of 26 quickly attracted attention. The work’s importance was soon so great that none other than Johann Sebastian Bach performed a German version of the work based on the 51st Psalm. Numerous copies prints and arrangements attest to the work’s vast popularity a popularity that still exists today. For the present edition the autograph was for the first time compared to a very early Neapolitan score that is presumably based on the parts from the work’s premiere. The findings have influenced the musical text; the details are described in the critical commentary. - Thepopular work is presented in a well researched Urtext edition - Clear idiomatic piano reduction in the vocal score (BA7679-90) - Full score and performance material (BA7679) and vocal score (BA7679-90) available for sale

When Queen Caroline the wife of King George II of England died on 20 November 1737 Handel was commissioned to write an anthem for her funeral service. She was buried in King Henry VII’s Chapel Westminster Abbey on the evening of 17 December 1737 with Handel’s work performed after the funeral service. To emphasize the solemnity of the occasion he used a roughly 100-piece Orchestra and 80 Choristers. The piece is a so-called “full anthem” consisting of an instrumental Introduction (“Symphony”) and thirteen interlinked choruses. The words were written by Edward Willes the Sub-Dean of Westminster at that time using passages from the King James Bible and theBook of Common Prayer albeit sometimes departing from the original wording. The absence of sections for solo voice has made this anthem a favourite among ambitious choruses and a highlight of any concert programme. Our edition contains the original unabridged version with English text. Martin Focke’s Piano reduction follows the Urtext of the Halle Handel Edition. Original unabridged version. Urtext from the Halle Handel Edition. Straightforward easy-to-play Piano reduction. Full score performance material (BA4267) and Vocal score (BA4267-90) based on the Urtext Halle Handel Edition available for sale.

Cheryl Frances-Hoad's Commuterland for Solo Piano. 'Commuterland was written directly after I had had to do a long commute every day for a week for a project I was working on. The frustration of rush hour and being caught behind crowds walking slowly through underground tunnels is expressed in this piece! At the same time I was listening to a lot of Bartok and the repetitive motivic cells and harmonies are in part a hommage to this composer who is one of my idols.' - Cheryl Frances-Hoad
