Programnote: DREAM FRAGMENT er skrevet i 1989 pa bestilling af Nordisk Konservatorierad og indgik i en workshop pa det Jyske Musikkonservatorium hvor de strygerstuderende indstuderede vaerker skrevet af nordiske komponister. Desvaerre blev DREAM FRAGMENT erklaeret for uspilleligt i forste omgang indtil en ung solistklasse-studerende Johannes Soe Hansen fik fingre i det. DREAM FRAGMENT begynder pa de hojest mulige flageolet-toner bevaeger sig gradvist ned i 'normalt' violintone-omrade og forsvinder hen mod slutningen igen op i det hojeste flageolet-leje. 'Hovedtemaet' i stykket er en brudt akkord - spillet med violinetude-bueforing i Paganini-stil - som optraeder bade som flageolet-akkord som fortissimo-akkord som pizzicato-akkord som en melodisk bevaegelse etc. Stykket blev det forste i en raekke - mere eller mindre uspillelige - stykker for violin og cello hvor jeg udnytter strygeinstrumenternes naturlige flageoletter - dvs de overtoner der fremkommer nar man berorer strengen ganske let pa nogle bestemte punkter.
