He eventually became a Piano pupil of Camille Saint-Saëns. Fauré 's career saw him succeed Théodore Dubois as organist at the Church of Madeleine in Paris and become professor of composition at the Paris Conservatoire all the whilecomposing sublime works. The Dolly Suite comprises six short pieces; 1) Berceuse 2) Mi-a-ou 3) Dolly's Garden 4) Kitty-Waltz 5) Tenderness and 6) The Spanish Walk. The complete suite takes about 15 minutes to perform. Praetorius was valued for the new impulses he gave to music by means of his use of instrumental accompaniment. His main contribution is his theoretical work Syntagma Musicum one of the most important musical refernce books in connection with instruments and instrumentation in the early 17th Century. Le Tombeau De Claude Debussy- In 1920 a Parisian magazine asked several leading composers to compose musical tributes to the famous French musician Claude Debussy who had died in 1918. The great Spanish composer Manuel De Falla (1876-1946) wasone of them: having met Debussy in Paris he had been heavily influenced by the French impressionists. His Homenaje (Homage) was his only work for solo Guitar although it was arranged by the composer for soloPiano almost immediately. It is widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of early 20th century music – at only three minutes in length it is often said it has twenty minutes’ worth of music contained within it.
