String Cartoons-Rupert Horst has always liked drawing as well as playing his trombone. In 2003 these two passions joined together for the first time. He is a teacher and avid performer playing for fun in brass and jazz bands and professionally in many other ensembles and orchestras. During countless rehearsals and performances as well as in long conversations with brass players you tend to notice the individual idiosyncracies of these fellows he says. In no ways is this meant as a criticism quite the contrary. Taking these idiosyncracies along with some self-mockery he has put pen to paper to produce this entertaining hardback book of colourful cartoons and caricatures.
