The accompaniments transform these humble pieces into miniature piano concertos that will delight beginners everywhere. The orchestral arrangements and piano reductions are the work of the pianist and arranger Gero Stöver. Piano teaching has made very great progress in recent years. Many piano teachers have their own ideas theories and experiences especially with regard to fingering and the use of the pedal. Nonetheless we have decided to add fingering to our revised newedition for experience has shown that many learners especially those encouraged by play-along Cd's want to play new pieces without their teacher's knowledge. The fingerings added in our volume will enable enthusiastic learners to prepare a piece without the aid of their teacher

Tanabata-In Japan July the 7th is a holiday known as Tanabata for which large celebrations are held throughout the country. The holiday is based on a legend about a young man and a young woman who are separated by the Milky Way and can only see each other once a year on this night. The Seventh Night of July is Itaru Sakai’s musical interpretation of this romantic legend. The alto saxophone and euphonium solos during the middle movement represent the two main themes from the legend.

The atmosphere of the Wild West is caught in a striking and most imaginative way by young composer Andreas Schulte in this work. A caravan of gold- and fortuneseekers launch themselves into a big adventure and begin their rush westward. The first movement desciribes these first days of buoyancy and optimism in a crisp march. Near the campfire the pioneers rest themselves and the music expresses feelings of romance nostalgia for the past and hopes for the future. A wistful melody very characteristically communicates these feelings. Relaxation takes place in the third movement which is a musical characterization of a rodeo and its attendant festivities. It is obvious that sometimes something goes wrong and this aspect can also be heard. Nevertheless the valiant rider wins in the end. With a flashback to the beginning the journey is completed musically thus giving the composition a dignified finale. Let the mystic Wild West entrance you. (Wagons ho ....!!)

Feelings is a well-known easy listening hit that was written halfway through the 1970s by the Brazilian singer-songwriter Morris Albert. However the melody is derived from a French song (Pour toi) from 1957 written by Louis Gaste who made this claim successfully. Over the years Feelings has been performed by famous artists like Ella Fitzgerald Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Numerous arrangements have been made for various instrumentations. This arrangement by Roland Kernen does justice to the original.
