Having won many prizes at the Paris Conservatoire during the 1920s-1930s Eugène Bozza went on to conduct the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and to become Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes. As a major figure on the classical music frontline Bozza 's compositions were well-received by audiences particularly those for wind instruments and his Clarinet Concerto is no exception. This Bozza piece for Clarinet is expressive and virtuosic displaying the entire range of the instrument accompanied by an equally virtuosic Piano reduction. The Concerto comprises three movements and is one of 19 Concertos written by the composer. As music educationalist Paul Griffithshas written of Bozza 's compositions his works reveal melodic fluency elegance of structure and a consistenly sensitive concern of instrumental capabilities. Clarinet Concerto is a suitable and significant addition to the advanced clarinetist's repertoire. This work was commissioned for The Berkshire Young Musicians Trust (England) who required a testing piece for the woodwind section of their concert band. The piece opens with a strong unison passage based on the interval of a fifth and develops with a passionate legato. This is followed by the main vivo section of the work based on the earlier 'fifth' figures. A bridge passage leads to a short chorale figure and a rhythmic climax which dissolves into a plaintive solo for oboe over staccato clarinets. Following a recapitulation of the main theme the oboe returns triumphantly before the opening unison passage reappears to provide a stirring coda.

Joan Cabanilles was cathedral organist in Valencia and the towering figure in Spanish organ music of the late 17th century. His brilliant and diverse musical language rooted in the traditional sounds of Spain has not managed to reach a large audience outside the Iberian peninsula although he is often called “a musician of European stature”. The aim of this three-volume Urtext edition is to grant access to his most appealing works. To this end all available sources in the libraries of Astorga Barcelona San Lorenzo de el Escoreal Felanitx/Mallorca Jaca and Montserrat have been examined and newly evaluated. If Cabanilles’s oeuvre consists primarily of tientos organ hymns and versets the third and final volume contains three versos three pasacalles two galliards two toccatas and such special forms as Paseos de tercer tono Diferencias de Folías and a Jácara. Final volume of the three-volume Urtext edition New selection of pieces and musical forms Extensive trilingual Foreword (Ger/Eng/Sp) on the works sources and previous editions as well as notes on registration and contemporary organ building

Cantata for soloists choir and orchestra- Lobe den Herrn meine Seele (Praise thou the Lord o my spirit) BWV 143 Little is known about the genesis of Lobe den Herrn meine Seele (Praise thou the Lord o my spirit BWV 143. A transcription from the 19th century was for a long time considered the only source; the musical text of the New Bach Edition was based on this material. Recently however a copy of the score from 1762 has become available. It offers a more reliable musical text rendering a complete revision of the cantata necessary. On the basis of this new source the work is presented here as part of theNew Bach Edition - Revised in what is presumably its original form in C major with three trumpets. This orchestration is more typical of Bach's writing than the version for three horns in the surviving B-flat major version. Being a fascinatingly unique composer Olivier Messiaen pushed the conventions of composing to its very limits. The composer's music remains ever-popular and The Technique of my Musical Language provides the key and necessary knowledge into the study of his delightful music. Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire at the mere age of 11 where he won many prizes. As a passionate ornithologist as well as organist and composer many of Messiaen 's works depict bird song. His music is rhythmically complex and harmonically and melodically distinct often using modes of limitedtransposition. It is for these reasons that the composer compiled The Technique of my Musical Language . The book contains text with musical examples describing unique elements of his music such as ametrical music his rhythmic notations and his modes of limited transposition among many others. For all fans of Messiaen The Technique of my Musical Language is essential to the understanding of the composer's much loved music.

Cantata for Whitsunday- Erschallet ihr Lieder BWV 172 Cantata for Whitsunday (C major version) Erschallet ihr Lieder (BWV 172) is one of those early Bach cantatas which were often revived at Leipzig. The first performance of this work was given in Weimar 1714. Although only a few instrumental parts from this performance are extant it may be assumed that at that time the cantata already had the form familiar to us from its first Leipzig revival. It was given in C major (church pitch corresponding to D major in chamber pitch) and the first number was intended to be repeated at the end of the work. - Urtext of the New Bach Edition -Performance material (BA10172) vocal score (BA10172-90) and study score format 22.5 x 16.5cm (TP1172) available for sale
