The theme from the film El Super this Caribbean-style music is now available for solo piano. New York Rush is the orchestral theme from the award-winning film 'El Super' (1979). The score was recorded in 1981 (KIM Records/K-716). In this solo Piano transcription by the composer all essentialmusical elements are faithfully recreated. The rhythm of the work is a basso ostinato of Caribbean flavour heard throughout. Harmonically an almost exclusive use of the diminished seventh chord with an unresolved appoggiatura isemployed. The melody is a blues counterpointed by restless melodic segments of Latin origins and different timbres.
