With this composition Otto M. Schwarz shows himself totally capable of composing a work with a somber almost melancholic character. Melody and counterpoint accompanied by a peaceful harmony play a kind of question and answer game in this short composition. The piece is written in a rather ABA form with the perusiion complementing the whole very effectively.

Be Joyful and Sing to the Lord is appropriate both for school choral festivals and concerts and for church choirs of all ages. In rehearsal strive for a bright articulate legato crisp syncopations and properly balanced choral antiphony.

This lovely work is scored for mixed chorus with keyboard and optional C instrument a very effective work for Lent or Communion.

Lors d’une rencontre avec Vicente Ferrer (Vincent Ferrier) un dominicain valencien et prédicateur illustre celui-ci lui prédit qu’il serait élu pape et qu’en tant que tel il le canoniserait. Alfonso de Borgia fut élu pape sous le nom de Calixte III et fit inscrire Vicente Ferrer parmi les saints de l’Église.Devenu souverain pontife son grand objectif fut la reconquête de Constantinople tombée aux mains des Turcs. Calixte III appella à une croisade pour libérer la ville. Après une première bataille victorieuse la croisade s’acheva par un échec cuisant. / 2. Els Canals (Canals) : Canals ses paysages colorés ses nombreux canaux et rivières et son sens de la fête nous invite à assister à la Fête de la Saint Antoine à la crémation du bûcher béni la bénédiction des animaux et la Festa dels Parells (La fête des parents). / 3. Foguera i Festa (Le feu et la fête) : Le point d’orgue de la Fête de la Saint Antoine est la mise à feu d’un immense bûcher de vingt mètres de haut dont la construction nécessite chaque année pas moins de 600 tonnes de bois (essentiellement du sapin). Le Feu de la Saint Antoine est accompagné des vivats des habitants qui rendent ainsi hommage à leur saint patron. La Fête de la Saint Antoine compte parmi les fêtes les plus populaires dans la tradition valencienne. Rassemblés autour du bûcher les habitants de Canals célèbrent cette fête avec enthousiasme.

Spring Summer Autumn and Winter are masterpieces of Baroque music and adapt excellently for recorder ensemble. For this piece I have assembled various extracts in a single unified musical form for descant recorder and piano.

For massed unison voices organ piano and percussion with optional SATB chorus. All shall be Amen and Alleluia was commissioned as the concluding piece for a concert in Princeton University Chapel New Jersey onApril 29 2009 to be sung by a large chorus of 500 voices. It was written to follow a performance of Son of God Mass by the same composer sung by a smaller choral group.
