Dear Frog describes the story of a prince who changes into a frog and then waits for a princess to kiss him so that he can turn back into a prince again. A musical satire for the trombone and orchestra. What is remarkable about this work is the use of the wah-wah sourdine throughout the entire piece which gives it an extra amusing flavour.

Earth Water Sun Wind is a four movement work with the unifying theme of these four elements. The music varies from being purely descriptive of the movements’ titles to specific sound painting - Earth for example is pure music and non programmatic whereas Sun attempts to paint a specific sound picture. The Symphony as a whole concerns itself with man’s relationship with these monumental aspects of nature.

Funeral March-Beethoven’s four-movement Sonata in A-flat major Op.26 belongs to his most popular works. It is dedicated to Prince Lichnowsky one of his most generous patrons and the dedicatee of for example the Grande Sonate pathétique Op.13 and Symphony No.2 Op.35. The work’s initial drafts date from 1800–01; it was first published in March 1802. This demanding sonata is highly varied in its form: it begins with a set of variations and contains the famous Marcia funebre sulla morte d’un Eroe as its third movement earning it the nickname “Sonata with the Funeral March”. The identity of the title’s eroe (hero) remains unknown to the present day. The march was performed atBeethoven’s funeral on 29 March 1827 in an arrangement for orchestra. For this Bärenreiter edition Jonathan Del Mar possibly as one of the first editors of a modern edition consulted the composer’s autograph in the original. This enabled him to decipher details of Beethoven’s handwriting in particular with regard to the exact notation of doubtful slurs. The result is a most reliable and thoroughly-researched musical text. Differing readings and editorial decisions are documented in the Critical Commentary. The edition has been finely engraved and includes practical page turns. Information on central issues of historical performance practice (pedalling ornaments tempo dynamics articulation) is provided in a detailed chapter. Scholarly-critical Urtext edition based on most recent Beethoven research Evaluation of Beethoven’s autograph in the original Elegant engraving with practical page turns Informative Introduction (Eng / Ger) Discussion of central performance practice issues (Eng / Ger) Detailed Critical Commentary (Eng)

Beethoven ’s Concerto For Violin And Orchestra is one of the most famous works in the history of music. Over the last 150 years it has been published in numerous editions none of which have up to now done justice to the work. For this edition Jonathan Del Mar has freed the work of additions made over the decades by various editors and violinists. The significance of Beethoven ’s solo and tutti markings has also been clarified for the first time. Following the publication of the full score Piano reduction and orchestral parts (BA 9019) in the autumn of 2009 Bärenreiter is now publishing a study score of this pioneeringcritical edition which will prove indispensible for all violinists and students as well as for orchestras and music libraries. An introduction by Beethoven expert Barry Cooper on the history of this concerto is included for the first time. Del Mar ’s edition clarifies Beethoven ’s solo and tutti markings for the first time.

Cantata for the 8th Sunday after Trinity- Es Ist Dir Gesagt Mensch Was Gut Ist BWV 45 Cantata for the 8th Sunday after Trinity - Performance material (BA10045) vocal score (BA10045-90) and study score (TP1045) available for sale. Bärenreiter's editions of Bach Cantatas offer the authoritative text of the New Bach Edition meeting Bärenreiter Urtext standards. No group of works in Johann Sebastian Bach ’s output is as wide-ranging as the cantatas. This is hardly surprising considering that for over five years Bach was required to compose a work or at least re-work an existing one for every Sunday and festival of the church year aswell as for numerous secular occasions such as council inaugurations school and university celebrations and royal birthdays. Unfortunately not all cantatas have survived. However over 200 sacred and secular works exist and form a corpus of works suitable for all possible occasions. This rich musical heritage is still as relevant today as it was then.

The attacks in Brussels on 22 March 2016 created a shockwave throughout Belgium and the rest of the world. Equally the attacks in Paris and Nice led to great public indignation fear and disbelief. What has happened to the western world? Have our cultures grown apart to such an extent that we do not understand each other anymore? Bert Appermont’s intention was to voice certain emotions that these acts of terror have caused: particularly fear grief anger and helplessness. He uses the French children’s song Au Claire de la Lune as a connecting thread throughout the work. This piece is also about hope and faith in another world and is meant to pay homage to allvictims resulting in a dignified remembrance. The musical development is presented in four through-composed parts titled Innocence In Cold Blood In Memoriam – We Shall Rise Again and A New Day . This work was commissioned by the Brassband Oberösterreich (Brass Band Upper Austria) to be played at the European Brass Band Championships 2017.

Haydn 's Symphony Hob. I:89 belongs to a group of symphonies composed between the ‘Paris’ symphonies (Hob. I:82-87) and their ‘London’ counterparts (Hob. I: 93-104) – the last ones he wrote before his trips to England in 1791-92 and 1794-95. The Symphony in F major is dated 1787 in the autograph score. In this work Haydn borrowed two movements from an earlier piece possibly owing to deadline pressure. The second and fourth movements are arrangements of movements 2 and 3 from his Concerto in F major Hob. VIIh:5 for two “lire organizzate” and orchestra. The fact that he also arranged movements from his other lire concertos suggests that heregarded them as a sort of musical quarry. This at least allowed him to recycle parts of these works after his patron had probably prohibited him from offering them commercially. This edition continues the collaboration with the Henle publishing company regarding Haydn's large-scale choral works operas and symphonies. It is based on the Henle Complete Edition of the Works of Joseph Haydn. The complete performance material for several Sturm und Drang symphonies and all of the London and Paris symphonies is now available from Bärenreiter.
