Some of these songs stand comparison with the Dylan classics and several shed light on the variety of his astonishing career of over fifty years including his very distinctive approach to writing andrecording. All the music has been specially transcribed and in each case is based faithfully on a specific Dylan recording. Together they form a Bob Dylan songbook with a difference: a celebration of someof his less familiar songs and performances that enhances the reputation of an already universally acclaimed musical giant. Gonoud was one of France's best composers if a little undervalued at the end of the nineteenth century before his interest in Religious and Sacred compositions waned. This piece is a prime example of his interst in ealier forms of music. This version has been faithfully if not wonderfully arranged for a Tenor saxophone and Piano accompaniment by Duncan Reid. This superb piece will be a suitable challenge for those working at grades 2-3.

Tarik O'Regan's The Night's Untruth for SATB chorus Brass ensemble and Organ is a co-commission celebrating the 10th anniversary of JAM (The John Armitage Memorial Trust) and the 40th anniversary of VocalEssence. ' The Night's Untruth explores the use of sleep as metaphor by dint of excerpts from poems written in the 17th to 20th centuries. Death love fear ecstasy isolation dreaming and rest are all textual variations on the theme of sleep and can be found in the chosen texts.
