Published in 1784 Mozart’s Sonata in A major “for clavier solo” with the famous Rondo “Alla Turca” finale is one of the most popular works in the entire piano literature. Now a newly resurfaced section of the autograph has prompted Bärenreiter to issue an up-to-date Urtext edition of this celebrated piece. The editor Mario Aschauer has set new editorial standards and offers the most innovative methodological approach of our time. His scholarly-critical performance edition is the only one to remain entirely true to the sources by presenting the musical text of the autograph and the original print separately. Both forms of the sonata are historicallylegitimate; the editor has not merged the sources to produce a new text. The section on performance practice provides valuable information on Mozart’s claviers as well as on the refinement of touch articulation pedalling and ornamentation. Foreword with new insights into the work’s publication history (Eng/Ger) Optimum page-turns and well-presented engraving Critical Commentary (Eng) Includes valuable information on performance practice

Immediately after completing “St. Paul” in 1836 Mendelssohn mulled over the idea of composing a further oratorio. However a whole decade elapsed before the composition of “ Elijah ” which takes as its theme the story of the Biblical prophet from the 1st Book of Kings. When he received the invitation to write a major work for the Birmingham Music Festival Mendelssohn finally embarked on work on the oratorio. “ Elijah ” was premiered in 1846 in Birmingham with great success and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. Following the first performance Mendelssohn undertook a revision of the oratorio inwhich whole numbers were removed and new ones substituted. This is the version which was first heard in 1847 in London and which is still performed today. To mark the Mendelssohn anniversary year 2009 the Mendelssohn specialist Douglass Seaton Professor at Florida State University prepared a critical new edition of the oratorio. The edition reflects the latest research findings and includes both English and German singing texts. A critical commentary completes the new edition. - One of Mendelssohn ’s most popular works in an edition reflecting the latest editorial knowledge. - Bärenreiter-Urtext including numbers from the original version for the first time. - English and German singing texts. - Critical Commentary (Eng). - Full score performance material (BA9070) and vocal score (BA9070-90) available for sale.

d'après la nouvelle de Guy de Maupassant- Isabelle Aboulker 's A Girl Called Dumpling for Mixed Choir Narrator and Instrumental Ensemble (Vocal score). Choosing an opera libretto is always delicate particularly if the work is aimed at young adults or teenagers (performers and audience). Published in 1880 Guy Maupassant's short story 'Dumpling' contains all of the elements essential to the process fruition and purpose of my work. In 1870 France was conquered and occupied. The Prussians marched into Rouen. The analogies with contemporary history are numerous and offer choir conductors and teachers multiple sources of reflection and analysis. The dignitaries whoreadily give in to power and collaborate with the occupier contrast with a young prostitute who is brave generous and patriotic. The libretto was taken straight from the original text though some cuts were necessary in order to keep the rhythm and momentum required in setting Maupassant's story to music. - Isabelle Aboulker
