This piece for Trumpet and Piano was likely to have been an audition set piece for final examination at the Madrid Conservatoire. The Andante is designed to show off the performer's ability to play a slow melody and the Allegretto demands flamboyance. The whole piece has a light Spanish feel in the manner of Bizet's Carmen which dates from the same period.

According to Ira Gershwin ' Lullaby ' was probably originally intended as a piano solo as he was in possession of an unfinished fragment of it. However it only became publically familiar when it emerged as a string quartet which George Gershwin had written sometime between 1919 and 1920. We do not know exactly when Gershwin composed the preceding piano version of Lullaby but the theme subsequently appears in 1922 as the heroine's love song in his opera 'Blue Monday'. Until the present edition arranged By Alicia Zizzo there was no existing score for piano solo.

Traditional church Organs are no longer the exclusive domain of Bach and the like - popular styles have conquered the king of instruments and found wide-ranging forms of expression. The only thing missing to date is a broad selection of suitable pieces. This is where Jazz Inspirations For Organ steps in. This comprehensive collection of moderately difficult pieces by various composers and organists offers classical swing jazz blues and Latin numbers side by side with rumba ragtime and calypso. A chorale prelude on Silent Night rubs shoulders with a Swing Fughetta and Latin for Lefties .The collection's great attraction lies in its personal treatment of the various themes. The editors are experienced organists fully conversant with the timbral possibilities of the pipe Organ. Their suggestions regarding registration are valuable tips that allow organists to develop their own style and be creative.

When Queen Caroline the wife of King George II of England died on 20 November 1737 Handel was commissioned to write an anthem for her funeral service. She was buried in King Henry VII’s Chapel Westminster Abbey on the evening of 17 December 1737 with Handel’s work performed after the funeral service. To emphasize the solemnity of the occasion he used a roughly 100-piece Orchestra and 80 Choristers. The piece is a so-called “full anthem” consisting of an instrumental Introduction (“Symphony”) and thirteen interlinked choruses. The words were written by Edward Willes the Sub-Dean of Westminster at that time using passages from the King James Bible and theBook of Common Prayer albeit sometimes departing from the original wording. The absence of sections for solo voice has made this anthem a favourite among ambitious choruses and a highlight of any concert programme. Our edition contains the original unabridged version with English text. Martin Focke’s Piano reduction follows the Urtext of the Halle Handel Edition. Original unabridged version. Urtext from the Halle Handel Edition. Straightforward easy-to-play Piano reduction. Full score performance material (BA4267) and Vocal score (BA4267-90) based on the Urtext Halle Handel Edition available for sale.
