It was collected in County Derry in the 1850’s and though claims have been made as to its authorship has always been attributed to ‘anonymous.’This arrangement by J Stuart Archer a British Organist composer and arranger of the early 20th century introduces the famous melody in the lower ranges before giving it full play above the harmonies.
