Mozart composed the majority of his works for solo string instruments and orchestra during the years 1773 to 1779. Especially important in this context are the years 1773 and 1775 which witnessed the creation of the five concertos for Violin and orchestra as well as several single movements for the same scoring. The reasons for this flourish of activity in this domain lie partly in the fact that Mozart who still occupied the post of concertmaster to the Prince-Archbishop was either obliged or inspired to provide such works for special occasions during this long period spent in Salzburg. But another reason was certainly the possibility ofexperimenting with all the new compositional techniques acquired during his third trip to Italy and his stay of several months in Vienna from July to September 1773. New straightforward Piano reduction (BA4863-90) with: - Violin solo part with the Urtext of the New Mozart Edition - Additional violin solo part with fingerings bowings and performance comments - Additional booklet with cadenzas and transitions by L. Auer J. Joachim S. Franko E. Ysaye M. Wulfhorst This collection offers players a spectrum of styles available in no other publication.

Cantata Mundi-Cantata mundi is a development of ideas first heard in Songs of Sanctuary where the world of ethnic influenced (both in vocal sound and percussion) are combined with established Western European classical technique to present a unified work.Vocally the spread of influence is wider than in Songs of Sanctuary with Eastern European and Arabic sounds added to the African Celtic and ecclesiastical blend. Once again the text is written phonetically with the words viewed as instrumental sound. In Cantata mundi the sound is more symphonic with woodwind and brass added to the strings percussion and recorder. The seven main Cantus movements incorporate ethnic percussion and areinterspersed with shorter chorales. (Full score). Jenkins K

Op. 31 Mwv A 9- Psalm ' Non nobis Domine ' / ' Nicht unserm Namen Herr ' Op.31 MWV A 9 Mendelssohn's first great orchestral psalm took almost six years to complete from the initial sketches and the first version of 1830 to the final version of 1835. Its premiere which took place at the Leipzig Gewandhaus did not take place until 1838. Unlike his other orchestral psalms Mendelssohn took the Latin words from the Vulgate as his principal text which stems from Psalm 113. When he later prepared his own German translation he made use of Psalm 115 from the Luther Bible. This edition by the leading Mendelssohn authorityJohn Michael Cooper incorporates all the relevant sources. In accordance with the work's genesis the vocal parts are underlaid with the Latin text and the German text appears underneath. Rounding off this Urtext edition are an informative Foreword and detailed Critical Commentary. The piano reduction stems from Mendelssohn himself. - Informative Foreword in the score (Ger/Eng) - Text underlay in two languages (Lat/Ger) - Piano reduction by the composer - Full score & parts (BA9079) and vocal score (BA9079-90) avaialble for sale
