Clarinet in motion is a composition for clarinet and orchestra written by Steve Willaert for the famous belgian clarinet player Walter Boeykens. This jazzy clarinet concerto consists of three parts.The cadenza allow the soloist to improvise freely.

Dramatic arias-These two settings of French texts for soprano and orchestra were Goldschmidt final compositions. The first Judith by Pierre le Moyne (1602-71) describes the Jewish woman who wreaks vengeance on her Assyrian captor Holofernes by creeping into his tent at night and cutting off his head with a sword. The second Rondel sets a poem by Tristan Corbiere (1845-75) a highly unconventional writer who spent his life in complete obscurity in Brittany and was posthumously discovered by Verlaine. Together these ‘dramatic arias’ form a moving and fitting close to Goldschmidt’s compositional career with an economy of expression line and gesture characteristic of his late style. Scenes from Lake Constance-Armin Schaer commissioned this work in his search for a new piece for the tuba. More specifically he wanted a work that showed off the versatility of this splendid instrument written in a musical style that is both fresh and modern while not banishing the orchestra to a simple supporting role. Taking all these specifications into account Thomas Doss created a work that allows stylistic leaps and is fun exciting romantic and virtuosic but does not lose sight of the thread that connects the opening measures to the very last.Armin Schaer describes his Panoptikum as follows: Panoptikum is a show of appreciation for my beautiful home and community at LakeConstance an eventful life the people that have enriched this life and a fascinating instrument: the tuba. This work musically embodies the many different moods found around theBodensee - cheerfulness and melancholy departures and longing calm and agitation. The roles of the soloist and the orchestra were consciously crafted in a way that does not follow the usual conventions of the genre. The work should spark emotions address broad segments of listeners and persuade them of the tuba’s ability to be a solo instrument as well as the richness symphonic wind ensembles have to offer. I hope this work enriches the lives of all the soloists and orchestras that cross its path as well as everyone in the audience who gets to partake!

Bach all based on a single musical theme given to him by Frederick II of Prussia to whom they are dedicated. The instrumentation is still a matter of debate some scholars stating that apart from the trio sonata the rest of the pieces are meant for solo Keyboard. Fanfare for Tokyo was commissioned by the Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2013. It was premiered at their special anniversary concert in October that year conducted by Maestro Yasuhiko Shiozawa. Fanfare for Tokyo is a flamboyant and extrovert concert opener designed to celebrate the virtuosic character of the talented Tokyo Wind Symphony Orchestra. A central theme over persistent percussion is first given by bassoons and taken up by the full ensemble. Either side of this horns and euphoniums lead an acrobatic fanfare under woodwind flourishes.

after a poem by Friedrich Schiller-The piece is based on Friedrich Schiller’s epic 1798 poem Das Lied von der Glocke (The Song of the Bell) which is one of the most famous in all German literature. The poem draws a close parallel between human life and the process of casting a bell. It has three movements: Life Celebration Sound the Alarm and Journey’s End.
