Since the 16th century lyrics had been added to klezmer music due to the ‘badkhn’ (the master of ceremony at weddings) to the ‘Purimshpil’ (the play of Esther at Purim) and to traditions of the Yiddish theatre but the term gradually became synonymous with instrumental music particularly featuring the violin and clarinet. In recent years it has again become very popular and in A Klezmer Karnival Philip Sparke has used three contrasting traditionaltunes to form a suite that will bring a true karnival atmosphere to any concert. Five Variations on the 'Brugg Song'-Kaleidoscope is a set of five variations of on the ‘Brugger Lied’ (Brugg Song) which is the traditional song of the town of Brugg. The lyrics tell of the geography people and traditions of this charming and historic town which is situated in the north of Switzerland near to the German border about halfway between Basel and Zurich.Each variation is based on tiny extracts of the theme the whole piece therefore resembling the effect of a kaleidoscope which juxtaposes small fragments of colour in a constantly changing pattern.

Rheinfelden Sketches-In each of the four movements of this major work for concert band the composer has tried to capture in music something of the spirit of this beautiful Swiss town of Rheinfelden which lies on the banks of the Rhein. The opening movement Promenade sees woodwind and brass alternating short melodic fragments leading to a noble melody from the horns. The dreamy Ballad features a saxophone solo and chorale-like melody. This leads via a four bar Interlude to the Scherzo which takes the form of a moto perpetuo.

Citroner Til Vorherre af Jorgen Lauritsen. Ti motetter til tekster af Simon Grotrian for blandet kor SATB a cappella. Fra forordet: Simon Grotrian udgav i 2008 denne samling bonner pa Borgens forlag og jeg faldt straks for teksternes helt saerlige karakter. Simon kan noget unikt med ord. Jeg laeser en strofe og straks falder jeg i tanker - glemmer oplever laeser linien igen og gar lidt videre for at se hvordan teksten nu kan forfore min oplevelse. Simon gav mig eneretten til at komponere musik til denne digtsamling pa den betingelse at jeg ikkema 'rykke et komma'. Det har jeg overholdt idet Simon har givet mig lov til at gentage linier nar jeg foler for det. Motetterne er komponeret i arene 2008 til 2015. Der har vaeret lange pauser i arbejdet jeg har vendt og drejet teksterne og tonerne. Mens livet er passeret forbi. Ud af alle disse tanker tvivl laesning og lytning er der nu kommet ti motetter. For mig er dette vaerk et fredfyldt sted til eftertanke og bon. Det vil glaede mig hvis musikken bruges - som samlet vaerk eller enkeltvis til koncerter eller gudstjeneste. Det er vigtigt at tekst og musik synges mundret med de betoninger der er naturlige. Sadan forstar jeg budskabet bedst. Derfor de mange skiftende taktarter og den enkle melodik. HWV 258 accompanied the king's anointment HWV 260 his actual coronation. Thanks to their festive and majestic character befitting the occasion as well as their spacious scoring for large choir and orchestra it comes as no surprise that motifs from Zadok the priest have found their way into the official hymn of the UEFA Champions League. The present editions by the authoritative Handel scholar Stephan Blaut are the first to offer these two anthems based on the Urtext from the Halle Handel Edition. To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. His Fantaisie for Bassoon and Piano is no exception to the composer's success. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Composed in 1945 Bozza 's Fantaisie for Bassoon and Piano is a virtuosicwork addressing advanced features including complex rhythms chromaticism a wide range and articulation. As music educationalist Paul Griffiths has written of Bozza 's compositions 'his works reveal melodic fluency elegance of structure and a consistently sensitive concern of instrumental capabilities.'

The Irish folk tune which appears towards the end of the piece is Slane a hymn tune version of the much older folk melody The Banks of the Bann . In Prelude on an Irish Folk Tune fragments of the folk tune hint at what is to come later in the piece but another folk-like tune is predominant. This later acts as a descant to Slane when it finally appears. Add a little Sparke sparkle to any concert with this lovely interlude.

Composed for upper-beginners Berceuse Op.19 is a piece for F Horn and Piano accompaniment by J. M. Damase . Quite short this piece is quite easy with a difficulty level 3°. Really nice and peaceful this piece is perfect to enjoy playing music aside from all the exercises and études necessary for beginners. The Horn begins Andante with a theme in seven measures accompanied by chords on the Piano. A really melodious part then features until the end of the piece when the initial themes are played again a Tempo. J. M. Damase is a French musician and a great composer who wrotenumerous lyrical works and some chamber music. One of his most famous pieces is the Sonata for Flute and Harp.

Released in 1939 it has since become a Christmas Season tradition on television drawing incredibly large audiences in homes all over America. It's a warm and whimsical story with plenty of excitement and thrills and with messages galore for the young viewers. Three Academy Awards honored this film: Best Original Music Score Best Song (Over The Rainbow) and a special award to Judy Garland.
