Take a visit to the UK's only herd of reindeer roaming freely around the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland. These extremely tame and friendly animals are a joy to all who come and see them. There are currently around 150 reindeer in the wild and approximately 50 of them are ranging freely in the Cairngorm Mountains. They're beautiful, gentle and you'll find they have similar traits to humans. It won't take you long to realise that they belong in the wild and should be protected. Not only will you get to meet these reindeer, you're also entitled to one year’s adoption of one of the centre's reindeer. On this experience you will get to learn their fascinating history, how to handle them and their behaviour towards humans and other llamas. The main part of the experience is a trek with the llamas across beautiful countryside. Llamas walk at a gentle pace of around two miles an hour so this is a wonderfully relaxed journey. If you love your animals, the llama is definitely one you should meet. Your experience begins with an introduction to llamas followed by instruction on handling the llamas. You will then commence your trek where you walk and lead your llama through the local countryside.
