Since there are no original sources or documents concerning the first performance of the funeral cantata Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit BWV 106 it is impossible to establish the year of origin of this work called Actus tragicus by Bach . The striking resemblance to the cantatas BWV 131 Aus der Tiefen rufe ich Herr zu Dir (presumably 1707) and BWV 71 Gott ist mein König (1708) – both of which were composed in Mühlhausen – suggests that the funeral cantata was also written in Mühlhausen in1707. Together with his brother Karl who was a flute virtuoso he travelled extensively around Europe. Arranger Gottfried Veit has arranged this appealing duet for concert band with two flutes as soloists. Sarabande Et Finale is a nice piece by Raymond Gallois Montbrun for Bb or C Trumpet and Piano accompaniment. Quite difficult this piece is great for recitals or concert. Starting with the Piano for just six measures before the Trumpet Solo the sarabande has a slow tempo. The finale is faster Allegro and features a period with solo Piano before evolving into Vivo. It features the score and parts for Bb or C Trumpet. Raymond Gallois Montbrun (1918-1994) was a French violinist and composer who won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome and the Grand Prix de Paris. He later became the director of the ParisConservatoire. He composed many symphonic pieces an opera a quartet and many pieces for Solo Piano Violin and Piano and other instruments.

On 30th September 1791 a few months before his death the opera “Die Zauberflote” (The Magic Flute) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was given its first performance. It was remarkable that despite his ill health and his disastrous financial situation he was able to compose a work of such comic genius. Mozart composed the overture in the two days before the premier of the opera and it is on this overture that this transcription is based. Towards the end of his life in the summer of 1788 he wrote three symphonies in the span of a little over six weeks. His Symphony No.40 in G Minor was one of those great works. This setting of the first movement from that Symphony provides ample demonstration of the composer's grace inventiveness and pervasive sense of humour which can be found throughout his music.

The Launch of Curiosity-The Curiosity is an unmanned spacecraft that has been exploring Mars since 2011. Controlled remotely from the Earth it sends back ever more information about the distant planet. Filip Ceunen depicts the various stages of this fabulous mission in which the space robot has its own theme. The highpoint of course is the landing on the surface of the planet.
