Microlighting perfectly captures the spirit of early aviation; pioneering, thrilling and a touch eccentric. These quirky little aircrafts, with their panoramic views from the cockpit, are ideal for short trips over the countryside. Flying a microlight is the perfect treat on a fine summer's day! The instructors will give you a thorough briefing and then take you on a trial microlight flying lesson. We are sure you will end up as enthusiastic as they are! To start the day you will be given a detailed briefing from your instructor, which includes how to use the microlight's dual controls, how to enter the microlight safely and pre-take off checks. You then take to the sky, climbing up to 1500 feet above ground level in a flex-wing (open cockpit) or fixed wing (closed cockpit - similar to a mini plane) aircraft (please state preference at time of booking). The instructor will demonstrate the controls and then, if the instructor is happy, control of the microlight will be passed to you. Happy flying!

Missing the TV programme? Now you can try your hand at guiding sheep into a pen, with a faithful sheepdog to help you. This is a unique opportunity to try your hand at the traditional art of sheep dog herding. Your day will begin with a short talk on the dogs and their instincts and then you'll be introduced to the dogs. The morning will be spent learning the dogs' 'language' in a training ring and working 2 or 3 different dogs. For lunch, 'Shepherds' usually go to the local pub or you can bring a 'pack-up'. In the afternoon, you will be learning to work dogs loose in the field and finish moving a small flock of sheep round the field and completing a small course. The sense of achievement you'll feel when you've finally got all the sheep in the pen is second to none!

During the flight you'll have the chance to take the controls; cruising at a speed of around 80 knots (just over 80 miles per hour) you'll have a fantastic view of the hedgerows, trees, people, their houses and cars.

This could be your stepping stone to the stars! We can't promise you chart topping success, but we will record you singing the track of your dreams and help you get the best out of your voice. On arrival at the studio, a professional sound engineer will help you select a backing track for your recording. We recommend that you sing a known track, rather than your own composition. After about half an hour setting up the equipment and discussing the project, the recording session starts. The vocals will be put on last and, depending on the experience of the participant, there should be enough time to mix the song and add final touches. At the end of the day you will take home your song on CD or audio cassette.

What is Bobsleigh? Put simply, it's two or four members trying to get a bobsleigh down to the bottom of an icey track as quick as possible. It begins by pushing the bob off the start and everyone quickly getting in. This is the most important part of the run as a lot of time can be lost. During an Olympic run the bob can achieve speeds approaching 90mph and the passengers can pull up to 6g in the corners! The same as Formula 1 cars! Once in, the crew keep their heads down, forming a compact surface with minimum drag until they reach the end, when they can finally catch their breath. On the day the high performance coaches will guide you through the skills and strategies required for the 'Formula One' of ice sports to make your experience exhilarating, fun, and safe. The session starts with an introduction to the simulated bob run, then it's a thorough safety briefing. Once you are kitted out with the correct safety gear, it's out to the track to learn the sport and techniques used. You will have a trial run on the 'start facility' first built for athletes to train for the Salt Lake City Olympics. And since then has been instrumental in developing the GB World Champion women's bob team and Gold, Silver and Bronze Olympic medals for the GB women bob skeleton athletes. The start facility is a true replica and although it is not on ice, you can achieve speeds of up to 30 mph (total track length is approximately 60m - this is not a full length track and there will be up to 3 other participants in the bobsleigh with you). You will have a chance to get plenty of practice on 2 and 4 man, before being put to the test on the timed runs.
