Though intended chiefly for players of baroque and natural trumpets the study of these volumesshould also be obligatory for players of modern valve trumpets in order to perform baroque music in an informed way. A wide selection of exercises and pieces from the repertoire has been arranged into a systemmatic tutor with solutions for alltechnical and musical problems and with special attention to ensemble playing. Poulenc’s setting of the Psalm 81 Exultate Deo ‘Sing aloud unto the Lord’ is both reverent and vivid and his harmonic tricks are used to dramatic ends. Den Fynske Spillemand af Bodil Heister. Bogen er en genfortaelling for born af Carl Nielsens erindringer 'Min fynske barndom' i en let forkortet udgave. Bogen fortaeller i sma episoder om Carl fra han som 6-arig far en lille violin at spille pa fordi han keder sig ved at ligge i sengen og til han som 18-arig kommer pa Musikkonservatoriet i Kobenhavn. Vi folger hans musikalske karriere fra hans forste optraeden som triangelspiller i faderens orkester til han bliver militaermusiker i Odense og begynder at spille trompet og basun. Bogen omhandler mange morsomme og spaendende episoder fra Carl Nielsens barndom i Norre-Lyndelse sammen med foraeldrene og de 11 soskende bl.a. hans venskab med Sophus hans forste job som gasedreng hans mode med traeskomageren hans skraek da grisen skulle slagtes og da han var ved at drukne i mergelgraven. Hvert af de 10 kapitler slutter med en dansk sang med musik af Carl Nielsen. Bogen er velegnet som hojtlaesningsbog.

All these works demonstrate the composer's mastery of theatrical conventions - descriptive instrumental preludes and dramatically representative scenes are not uncommon - and their style is imbued with the worldly fashionable Italianate spirit of the time. The Messe de mort is today one of the more frequently performed of Campra's sacred works and it is also one of the most enigmatic scores of his entire output. The occasion of its commission and first performance are unknown. Montagnier however proposes thehypothesis that the Messe de mort was expressly composed for the memorial service for Philippe II duc d'Orléans (Campra's patron since 1697) who died at Versailles on 4 February 1723.
