Taken from Songs Between The Soul And The Bridegroom . Canciones entre el alma y el esposo is a poem consisting of forty verses. Having previously set two sections of it as separate a cappella choruses and onefor two countertenors and strings I've long wanted to make a complete setting of the work and by arranging the countertenor piece for a cappella chorus and setting the remaining verses as two more anthems for the same forces I've completed the task. The five pieces can of course still be performed separately or brought together as a twenty-five minute setting of Roy Campbell's translation from the original Spanish of this vivid and intensepoem.' I Sonetti Lussuriosi is a collection of pieces by world-renowned composer Michael Nyman . This work is a setting of 8 pieces of erotic poetry by Italian poet Pietro Aretino. This is the Vocal Score which can be used for either the Piano Quintet or Orchestra version. I Sonetti Lussuriosi was inspired by Renaissance engravings of couples engaged in sexual intercourse which caused outrage among authorities at the time. At the world premiere of Nyman 's work Marie Angel voiced both the male and female characters with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia conducted by Michael Nyman himself. Little Tree consists of three short choral settings of poems by E.E.Cummings with a total duration of around 6 minutes. The first song Little tree is in three voices(SSA); the next movement I carry your heartwith me progresses into four voices; the final song now is a ship opens briefly with two solo voices but ends in 6 vocal parts. Accompanying all three pieces is a simple marimba part which acts as a continuoinstrument. In the opening movement it simply doubles the lowest vocal part; in the later pieces it provides a simple basis for the choral harmony. Judith Weir's wonderful vocal score for SSA and Marimba accompaniment. Idealfor children and female voiced choirs.
