This highly descriptive piece paints a series of vivid musical colours through skilful use of melody rhythm and orchestration. A truly delightful major new concert work.

Adapted For 2 Solo Saxophones By Jean-Marie Londeix- French baroque composer and violinist Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764) is considered to have founded the French Violin school. His expertise led him to compose significant works for the instrument. His sublime Sonata in C is superbly arranged for Alto Saxophone by contemporary French saxophonist Jean-Marie Londeix. Leclair 's Sonata in C for Violin is one of his most prolific and best remembered works. Londeix 's arrangement for Saxophone of Leclair 's Sonata in C includes adaptions for the instrument such as dynamics phrase marks performance and tempodirections articulation and breath marks. Londeix 's rearrangement for the Saxophone of Leclair 's popular Sonata in C is exquisite making the baroque genre accessible to the Saxophone a relatively modern instrument.

The Piano Trio Two is inspired by three Zen koans which have lent their titles to the movements ‘How Grass and Trees Become Enlightened ’ ‘Your Light May Go Out ’ and ‘Open Your Own Treasure House.’ Yet themusic is drawn from English folk tune and Weir’s own songs and imaginary ragas. Judith Weir is one of Britain’s most prolific and successful composers widely known for her operas like The Vanishing Bridegroomand A Night At The Chinese Opera and her many Choral works as well as her pieces for Strings and Piano. She was Artistic Director of the Spitalfields Festival and is a professor at Cardiff University. Her work is often inspiredby narrative folklore and theatre.
