De La Guerre 's Harpsichord Pieces was composed in 1687. The compilation remains a favourite in the Harpsichord repertoire. Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre (1665-1729) was born into an important family of musicians in Paris. Comprising four Suites de La Guerre exemplified in her compositions her own skills on the Harpsichord. Each of the Suites begin with a Prelude Allemande two Courantes Sarabande and a Gigue. The following movements include a Cannaris Chaconne Gavott and Menuet. Pieces for Harpsichord is essential to the repertoire of aspiring players of the instrument.

Dedicated to Jules Lambert director of 'La cantate' in Rouen this religious piece is very lyrical and melodious. Written in Latin this piece necessitates being sung at a slow tempo (58) including three principal verses and finishing with the voices in harmony. It is mainly used for the Adoration and the Blessed sacrament. Pierre Villette (1926-1998) was a French composer of choral and instrumental music. Strongly influenced by Catholicism his musicalheritage ran from Fauré to Messiaen.
