Therefore when French saxophonist Marcel Mule (1901-2001) arranged the popular piece for the Saxophone in 1951 it was very well-received. To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. His Douze études-Caprices for Saxophone will enable the pupil to attain brilliant technique on the instrument. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Composed by J. S. Bach for Flute and Piano this edition of Sonata No.6 was arranged for Alto Saxophone in E flat and Piano by Marcel Mule . Its difficulty would fit the skills and abilities of intermediate players. In terms of composition this piece was created in four different sections: Adagio ma non tanto Allegro Siciliano and Allegro. Marcel Mule (1901-2001) is one of the greatest French saxophonists renowned worldwide for his work on the classical Saxophone repertoire. He was teaching his students how to obtain a good quality of sound and believed it was dependent on the embouchure the emission the mastery ofvibrato and thus of breathing. He wrote different methods that focus on technique articulation and tone productions such as 'Scale and Arpeggios' (in three books) 'Daily exercises after Terschack' or '30 Great exercises or studies after Soussmann' (in two books) among others.

However in 1921 he began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire and went on to become ahigh profile composer and conductor. Tomasi did not forget his Corsican routes often incorporating themes of the songs he had learnt during the summers with his Grandmother into his compositions. Composed for an unusual instrumentation of Brass Ensemble Timpani and Drums Fanfares Liturgiques comprises four movements; 1) Annunciation 2) Gospel 3) Apocalypse and 4) Good Friday Procession.
