Were You There? was expertly composed by James Whitbourn for SATB Chorus and Organ. The piece was written for Stephen Cleobury and the Choir of King's College Cambridge. British composerand conductor James Whitbourn had an international reputation as a composer from the start of his career as a Programme maker at the BBC; during his time there he produced many award-wining programmes anddeveloped a style that gave him a direct connection with an audience. This well accomplished composer has received many awards for his work including among others two Grammy nominations and a Royal Television SocietyAward. In the June 2015 edition of 'Sunday by Sunday' Were You There? is described as 'effective atmospheric and not too difficult.'
