Here is a lovely and passionate piece that recognizes the sufferings of Jesus and prays for the same kind of strength. Appropriate as a general anthem it could easily work as a communion piece as well. The text was inspired by Hebrews 12:3-6 and the setting is warm and gentle.

This setting of Psalm 47 is from the same parent and is similar in energy drive andvitality. The parallel chords in rapid succession and the rhythmic determination are infectious. Cousins typified a compositional style that celebrated the wonderful choral traditions that powered through our country in the late 20th century. Highschool choirs colleges and community choirs will enjoy this piece as will larger church choirs. Medium difficulty.
