In the 1870s Novello released a series entitled Cheap Musical Classics which contained over one hundred spurious masses. This selection was lifted from that series and was previously attributed to Haydn's ThirteenthMass. However of Haydn's authenticated fourteen masses this selection cannot be found and in fact the thirteenth mass is entitled the Creation Mass in Bb (not to be confused with the Creation Oratorio ). The truecomposer of this setting of the mass will probably never be known. Available: SATB.
