Einfache Noten - hochster Anspruch Arvo Pärts Musik schon zu spielen heiBt die Perfektion des Klangs zu erreichen. Eine Musik an der vordergrundige Virtuosität ubermäBige Dynamik oder Effekt beladenes Ausdrucksspiel einfach abprallen die aber im Gegensatz dazu jedem einzelnen Ton den notigen Raum zur vollkommenen klanglichen Entfaltung gibt. Fur den Komponisten ist dies das erklärte Ziel fur den Interpreten eine schwer zu erfullende Aufgabe. Seine Komposition Summa realisierte Pärt selbst bereits in mehreren Besetzungen - ursprunglich fur Chorgeschrieben dann arrangiert fur verschiedene Streicherbesetzungen. Bestätigung im musikalischen Streben nach Perfektion in der Einfachheit findet sich auch im vorliegenden Saxophon-Arrangement das Pärts intensiven und faszinierenden Sensibilisierungslehrgang zur Optimierung von Klang Intonation und Zusammenspiel um eine Klangvariante erweitert.

For String Instruments Percussion and Celesta- The Music for Strings Percussion and Celesta is a central work not only in Bartok's œuvre it is also recognized as a key work in the music of the 20th century. ln spite of the work's monothematic conception all four movements have their own individual character. The constant return of the fugal theme from the first movement gives an organic unity to a series of complementary moods. The theme appears either in its original form or in inversions sometimes slow in a chromatic trepidation and elsewhere as an expression of pure diatonic dignity and joy. Fratres (original setting for violin and piano) was commissioned by the Salzburg Festival and premiered on August 17th 1980 at that very place (violin: Gidon Kremer piano: Elena Kremer). Daniel Hope internationally acclaimed violin soloist says about the piece: 'Fratres opened up my ears in a completely new way. Recently when I recorded it I was extremely pleased about the edition by Universal Edition. A masterpiece needs an illustration that clearly depicts the composer's wishes as it was done with this piece.' Composed in Pärt's very own 'Tintinnabuli'-style this piece allows many different settings because it is not bound to aspecific klangfarbe (tone color).
