Composed by Georges Hue for the Conservatoire Contest (1900) 1st Solo De Cornet à Pistons is a piece for Cornet and Piano accompaniment dedicated to J. Mellet. Quite difficult (6°) it would demonstrate well the skills acquired by an advanced player during a contest but can also be performed for a recital as it's eminently enjoyable. Written in Bb minor the piece starts with the succession of lyrical parts by the Bassoon accompanied by the Piano and of some quieter ones with a more predominant Piano and a slower Bassoon. The piece then continues with a more energetic part reminiscent of a march supportedby some chords on the Piano. It closes on a faster section in Molto Vivace. It is really important for the Cornet player to master his breathing to execute this piece effectively. Georges Hue (1858-1948) is a French musician and composer who composed numerous Operas including one created after the stories by Perrault.

Features of the Barenreiter Urtext edition of Beethoven 's Mass In C Major : Score with realisation of the Organ part Bilingual Foreword (Eng/Ger) and Critical Commentary (Eng) Straight-forward Piano reduction Full score and performance material (BA9039) and Vocal score (BA9039-90) available for sale Amongst Beethoven ’s sacred works are two settings of the Mass. The Mass In C Major was completed and premiered in 1807 and has been unjustly described as a preliminary step towards the great Missa solemnis. Yet it is a self-contained and for its time distinctly modernpiece of sacred music. Beethoven specialist Barry Cooper has drawn on a rich body of sources to suggests practical solutions to the work’s musical and interpretative problems. His in-depth study of the sources convinced him to include a fully realised Organ part in the score just as Beethoven envisioned it for the first printed edition. As stated in the original sources the parts for the soloists and choir are notated on joint staves to demonstrate that the soloists are also to sing the choral passages. This Barenreiter Urtext edition is rounded off with a foreword on the work’s genesis and a detailed critical commentary.

The celebrated Austrian composer Josef Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) owes his fame predominantly to his symphonies his masses his Te Deum his string quintets and his devotional church music including numerous motets. One of these is the magnificent Ecce sacerdos which Bruckner composed in 1885. The trombones and organ support the choral parts and the harmonies are inventive and glorious. The Austrian composer and arranger Thomas Doss has made this delightful arrangement for concert band which does justice to the impressive original work.

for Pianoforte and Orchestra op. 37- Urtext edition reflecting the latest musicological research. With many corrections in the solo part and orchestral parts. Piano reduction with a separate solo Piano part. A must for pianists orchestras and Beethoven scholars. Beethoven ’s Piano Concerto No.3 is the only concerto where no authentic manuscript exists for the solo part. The autograph of the score is available whereby the articulation dynamics and pedal markings are for the most part absent. However Beethoven oversaw the first printed edition of the solo part (1804) with great diligence. Plate corrections bear witness to the care withwhich Beethoven placed slurs and pedal markings in order to be consistent and unambiguous. By means of a thorough examination of the sources this new Urtext edition presents many corrections in terms of articulation dynamics and notes. In particular the orchestral parts have been corrected for the first time since Beethoven’s lifetime.

Transcribed for Clarinet in B-flat and Cello- Bernstein often used the octatonic scale also very popular in jazz music as a basis for his compositions. Inspired by Chopin's mazurkas Bernstein originally composed these 'Variations' for recorder and cello in 1988-89.
