Sleepsong is a rich Celtic-inspired song for choirs looking to test their abilities with a new and exciting challenge. Released by Secret Garden in 2005 the song was written by Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland who also penned the Westlife hit You Raise Me Up . This beautiful and peaceful choral version has been arranged by Desmond Earley for six part chorus with Soprano solo. It was first performed by UCD Choral Scholars on April 19 2012. The piece is perfect for choruses looking to take their singing forward with specific directions for staggered breathing throughout offering an added challenge forensembles. Although designed to be sung A Cappella the arrangement includes a piano reduction for easy rehearsal.

12 Pieces For Beginner Double Bass- Feathered Friends is a set of 12 short enjoyable characterful and lively pieces for the beginner bassist and was composed in 2009 for Recital Music's BassLine project. Each piece can be played in 1st position although half position can be produced in several and they employ a limited number of notes keys note values and rhythms. Teachers should feel confident to teach the pieces in the order best suited to each student. The accompaniments are simple and supportive aimed at the bass teacher with some pianistic skills and Katrina Gordon has a successful and proven record when writing lively enjoyable fun and accessible music foryounger players. Each piece includes an evocative written description to inspire the young bassists to create a mini tone-poem in a short space of time. This is music written to be enjoyed by players teachers and audiences alike.

– Nyx was expertly composed by Evis Sammoutis for Bassoon and Piano. The piece was completed in 2013 and performed at the 62 Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD München. The Cypriote born composer has worked with some of the worlds leading composers including among many others Brian Ferneyhough Georges Aperghis George Benjamin as well as studying under Thomas Simaku for his Phd in Musical Composition. Sammoutis ’ works have been commissioned by festivals and organisations such as Venice Biennale Klangspuren Royaumont and ARD and performed at leading festivals and contemporary music seriesin more than 40 countries across the globe. Sammoutis has been awarded over 35 compositional awards including among many others the Royal Philharmonic Society Award and the Irino Prize.
