The piano pieces opp. 116-119 were written in 1892/93 and are the last collections of pieces which Brahms wrote for the instrument. Particularly noteworthy is his use of the 'small form' accompanied by a heightened increase in musical expression compared to his earlier works. Clara Schumann probably the secret dedicatee of the Piano pieces wrote in her diary in November 1892: 'a true source of enjoyment everything poetry passion fantasy intimacy full of the most marvellous sound effects [...] In these pieces I finally feel musical life drawn into my soul again and play once more with true devotion.' A renewed critical evaluation of all known sources hasresulted in small deviations from previous readings. Johannes Brahms's most frequently performed piano pieces now available in high quality Bärenreiter Urtext editions Evaluation of all available sources Reflecting the latest state of research Available separately: Fantasies Op.116 (BA9628) Three Intermezzi Op.117 (BA9629) Piano Pieces Op.119 (BA9631)

Op. 31 Mwv A 9- Psalm ' Non nobis Domine ' / ' Nicht unserm Namen Herr ' Op.31 MWV A 9 Mendelssohn's first great orchestral psalm took almost six years to complete from the initial sketches and the first version of 1830 to the final version of 1835. Its premiere which took place at the Leipzig Gewandhaus did not take place until 1838. Unlike his other orchestral psalms Mendelssohn took the Latin words from the Vulgate as his principal text which stems from Psalm 113. When he later prepared his own German translation he made use of Psalm 115 from the Luther Bible. This edition by the leading Mendelssohn authorityJohn Michael Cooper incorporates all the relevant sources. In accordance with the work's genesis the vocal parts are underlaid with the Latin text and the German text appears underneath. Rounding off this Urtext edition are an informative Foreword and detailed Critical Commentary. The piano reduction stems from Mendelssohn himself. - Informative Foreword in the score (Ger/Eng) - Text underlay in two languages (Lat/Ger) - Piano reduction by the composer - Full score & parts (BA9079) and vocal score (BA9079-90) avaialble for sale

Motet for two four-part mixed choirs- Furchte dich nicht ich bin bei dir for two four-part mixed choirs A major BWV 228 All of Bach's six authenticated motets were written between 1723 and 1727 for St Thomas' Church Leipzig where Bach was appointed as director of music in 1723. During this period Bach composed most of his cantatas and it seems likely that for ordinary Sunday services he used existing motets from the seventeenth century tradition reserving his own motet compositions for special occasions. - Urtext of the New Bach Edition. - Performance material and choral score (BA5133) available for sale. -Complete edition of the 6 Motets vocal score with piano reduction (BA5193-90) choral score (BA5193)
