The Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) has been highly regarded in Britain from the time of his first visit in 1829. The highlight of his career came in 1846 when he was commissioned to write the oratorio Elijah for the Birmingham Festival. It remained hugely popular for over eight decades being performed at the Proms every year until 1930. It draws heavily on influences from Bach and Handel both of whom Mendelssohn admired. O Rest In The Lord is an aria from the second act of the oratorio sung by an Angel to Elijah. It is scored for Alto or Contralto Voice with Piano accompaniment.

Debussy’s Première Rhapsodie is one of two concertante works completed premiered and published during his lifetime. He was commissioned to write it in 1909 for the final examination at the Paris Conservatoire in 1910. Debussy orchestrated it in the summer of 1911. While transferring the clarinet part from the already published version for clarinet and piano he made a few subtle changes particularly in m. 201 which has been a bone of contention among clarinettists for over a century. The present scholarly-critical publication is the first Urtext edition of the orchestral version. It draws on every known source and takes into account a previously ignored source that shedsnew light on the piece. First Urtext edition of the orchestral version First scholarly-critical edition of a pioneering work for clarinet Trilingual Foreword (Eng/Fr/Ger) with Critical Commentary (Eng)

The Te Deum (H 146) is unquestionably the best known composition of Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704) especially since its Prélude en rondeau was made the Eurovision signature tune. Although Charpentier set the Te Deum altogether four times this is his only setting employing a military band i.e. trumpets and kettledrums. This brilliant and magnificent piece was frequently played at victory celebrations and other occasions of public jubilation during the 17th century. Even today it is still ideal for festive church services and concerts. The present editionstands at the forefront of scholarship and provides a complete newly edited Urtext of Charpentier's masterpiece. - Full score performance material (BA7593) and vocal score (BA7593-90) available for sale
