The 'Andante' for flute and orchestra (K.315) was presumably written early in 1778 when Mozart was staying in Mannheim. A wealthy Dutch amateur by the name of De Jean had then commissioned him with several pieces for flute the best-known of which is the Concerto in G (K.313).The Andante is scored for 2 oboes 2 horns and strings. Klavierauszug mit Solostimme-The edition is part of the Trinity syllabus 2007 (grade 8) Hummel's Trumpet concerto is certainly one of the more well known and popular works in the trumpet repertoire. This is a beautifully lyrical piece with many memorable melodies and sonorous harmonies. This version has been arranged for B flat Trumpet with Piano Accompaniment and has been edited by Norman Richardson. Where many piano (or orchestral) reductions can literally be a reduced orchestral score rather than a properly devised accompaniment this piano part has been carefully voiced so as to be performable. This piece will provide an enjoyable challenge for both the trumpeter and pianist alike. The solo trumpet part is also included on aseparate insert.

'Letter from Home was commissioned as a patriotic work in 1944 by Paul Whiteman and his Radio Hall of Fame Orchestra. Composed toward the end of the Second World War this music suggests the emotions of a soldier reading a letter from home. The music has been described as Copland's 'most sentimental' and reflects his own homesickness while visiting Mexico. Peter Maxwell Davies's Hymnos for Clarinet and Piano.

While teaching in India composer Lindsay Boyd became acquainted with the fundamentals of Northern Hindustani music. The result is this intriguingly unique work for wind band that incorporates distinctive sounds of India. The drone sound of the tambura is available as a free download online or may be substituted with a marimba. The vocal chanting in the piece is a representation of the syllables used by a tabla player when learning to play this exotic drum. This is a wonderful piece for expanding the musical horizons of your players and audience.

A Suite in three Movements-Each movement of this composition instrumentally reflects several of the different manners in which the human voice produces sound and becomes a vehicle of communication. The first movement portrays a dialogue between several groups represented by different sections of the band. The second movement begins quietly swells to a climactic level then concludes with the peacefulness of the beginning. The final movement is a joyous celebration of the human voice's ability to sing.
