An arrangement of one of the songs from The Little Prince a fabulous moving and melodic opera by Rachel Portman with luxurious counter melodies and placid harmonies. This opera is based on French philosopherand aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery's novella Le Petit Prince an international classic penned in 1943. It was composed by Rachel Portman the first woman to win an Oscar for a film score (Emma-1996) with text by NicholasWright. While Saint-Exupery's moving parable of self-discovery is the foundation of the opera's appeal it is Portman's music that gives the work its dramatic impact. witness to a snow miracle is a violin concerto in seven short movements based around the life of SaintEulalia the virgin martyr. The movements are presented as if part of a painting in which we see the events ofher life and eventual martyrdom. Written for solo violin and orchestra.

POD- Released in 2005 the album Once Around The Sun is the outcome of Joby Talbot 's residency with Classic FM. During his year in residence Talbot composed a new piece of music each month scored for up to five instruments. The resulting twelve compositions were then premiered on Classic FM and were recorded on CD. March - Seed Capsule was the third piece to be composed and is scored here for solo Piano.

In the words of the composer 'Insomnia was written between March and November 2002. Technically speaking it is a set of variations based on a harmonic model separated by a Ritornello-like section which is essentially a pedalpoint on the note e. The sound of Insomnia is darker and deeper than that of some of my other orchestral works. I decided to add a quartet of Wagner Tubas to the brass section for the very particular sonority only these rare andweird instruments can produce.'

Taken from Songs Between The Soul And The Bridegroom . Canciones entre el alma y el esposo is a poem consisting of forty verses. Having previously set two sections of it as separate a cappella choruses andone for two countertenors and strings I've long wanted to make a complete setting of the work and by arranging the countertenor piece for a cappella chorus and setting the remaining verses as two more anthems for the sameforces I've completed the task. The five pieces can of course still be performed separately or brought together as a twenty-five minute setting of Roy Campbell's translation from the original Spanish of this vivid and intensepoem.' The Beautiful Names was commissioned by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. First performances on 19th June 2007 at Westminster Cathedral London and on 22nd June 2007 in Aya Sofya Istanbul by John-Mark Ainsley(tenor) the BBC Symphony Orchestra the BBC Symphony Chorus and the Choristers of Westminster Cathedral conducted by Jirí Belohlávek.

This work was commissioned by Bill Colleran. It was first performed by David Alberman on 19th November 2005 at St Paul’s Hall Huddersfield as part of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. The Sharp End OfNight was written especially for David Alberman by way of an enormous thank you for his breathtaking playing and acting in the composer's music theatre piece Who put Bella in the Wych Elm? (2003). The music is derivedentirely from the Violin part of that work.
